Happy Monday! Yes I am happy it’s Monday, well, to be honest I’m already counting down to Friday. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. There was no partying or drinking involved either. We were just super busy! Does that mean I’m getting old? lol My weekend started early with a trip to the hair salon on Friday morning. I let my hair go way too long between trims and color and let’s just say my hair was looking pretty ragged. Not to mention getting in my way during workouts. Seriously, my hair (even pulled back) was landing in my eyes and sometimes my mouth when I worked out! I so needed a trim! lol My roots were a good 4-5 inches showing. It was bad to say the least. So I had my hair trimmed and layered, and highlighted. I ended up getting caramel and blonde highlights this time. I wanted blonde but not too much blonde. Anyway, I am loving my new color! I spent the rest of the day shopping for clothes for the kids and myself and ended the day with a pedicure. It’s my indulgence every 2 weeks and a great way to relax.
Saturday was more hectic. We had 2 ball games and a crawfish boil, not just any crawfish boil though, THE crawfish boil! The annual crawfish boil my mom and step dad have every year. So we got up early Saturday and headed to the ballpark for “K’s” softball game. There is no such thing as sleeping in on the weekends during baseball season. lol After her game we immediately went to my mom’s for the crawfish boil. This year they got a bounce house and a huge slide for the kids to play on, which of course was a big hit. There was so much food there. They had links for those who don’t eat crawfish (I am one of them!), and a ton of desserts and dips. I’m probably the only one in my family, other than my oldest son, who doesn’t eat crawfish. I did when I was really little, till one day when I was 4 years old, I was eating some and my dad called them “mud bugs.” I put them down and haven’t touched them since! lol It’s all psychological but I still won’t eat them! 🙂 Anyway, we had to leave before it was over to head to “A’s” game. The other 2 kids stayed at my mom’s and by the time we got back to her house after the game almost everyone had left. So we ate a little more and then headed home. I was absolutely exhausted. All that back and forth was too much for this mom! lol
Yesterday was more relaxing and quiet. I woke up with a stubborn headache that didn’t seem to want to go away. I literally stayed on the couch all day watching TV or on my laptop. I was just worn out from the day before that I needed the down time. Sundays are perfect days for that!
