This week’s weigh in number came as a little bit of a shock to me. Last week was spring break and between the time change, kittens being born, and just being busy I only got in one workout all week. This past weekend I didn’t exactly watch what I ate at the rodeo either, but we did a ton of walking so I guess that helped me some. I haven’t been able to workout this week due to “K” being home sick and missing school. I lost 1 lb this week and I have to say I’m happy about it! I really didn’t expect to lose anything. I’m hoping to be able to workout tomorrow, Friday, and possibly some this weekend to make up for it.
I never did mention my goal weight so I thought I would break it down for those who are wondering. First let me say I don’t put as much emphasis on the scale as I used to. I do weigh myself each morning but only to keep a watch for huge fluctuations. Weight tends to fluctuate from day to day but if I notice it goes up too much in a single day I know I need to drink more water, workout harder, watch what I eat a little closer, etc. Plus when you are turning fat into lean muscle it can cause the scale to not even budge even though you are losing inches. FYI peeps…muscle does not weigh more than fat. Period! You can read my rant on that here. So anyway, my goal is to lose the 17 lbs I gained from not working out and during my recovery from surgery. If you remember back in November 2011 I still had 11 lbs to go to reach my goal. So once I lose the 17 lbs, my goal is to lose the remaining 11. I’m setting these goals in 2 parts. I hope to lose the 17 lbs by the first week of May (May 8), and the remaining 11 lbs by summer. I totally feel those are reachable goals. I already have lost 3 of the 17 lbs, leaving 14 lbs to lose in 7 weeks. That’s 2 lbs each week which was my average weekly weight loss before. But like I said the number on the scale doesn’t matter as much as the inches lost. So if I don’t lose all that weight but still can wear a size 4 (which is my goal size) then I’m totally fine with that. I can remember just 2 years ago being so hung up the number of the scale that I just about drove myself crazy. We all want to look Picture Perfect.
