Sometimes funny things happen to people…and sometimes even funnier things happen to my step dad “D”. He absolutely hates cats. I’m not sure why exactly, but I suspect he was clawed by one as a child and it scarred him for life. lol The Friday before Christmas we went over to my mom and step dad’s to open presents since my oldest would be with his dad on Christmas day. When the kids got out of the car they saw a cat in their garage. Well as soon as my mom opened the door it ran in their house. My first thought was “oh crap I better get to it before “D” does!” Well by the time I got inside the house he had the cat by the scruff and back end and was carrying it out. This cat looked pitiful. It was solid black, didn’t have a tail, and it’s sides were sunk it pretty bad. It kept meowing and following us around. Now I’m not about to let any animal starve and it clearly was starving. My step dad was adamant that we didn’t feed it because that would mean it would never leave. So I made the decision to bring it home with us when we left. Before we left the kids had already named her Sami. 🙂
So we get her home and feed her. Since we already have a cat we had plenty of cat food on hand. I wasn’t sure if she would stay or run off, but I should have known this cat wasn’t dumb, it knew where the food is and has stayed around. I’m totally fine with it too. She knows her name, she will come when you call her, and the bonus is that she will keep away the mice and snakes.
Anyway, Sami loves to climb this big tree that is in between our house and the neighbors. She will lay there all day just watching everything. One day right after my husband got home from work she was up in the tree once again. We watched as she walked out on a branch that was over my husband’s truck where she proceeded to pee all over it! I’m not talking just a little bit of pee either, more like a gallon came out of this tiny cat! It was all over the top of his truck and down the side of the driver’s side window. My husband just washed his truck earlier that day which I found hilarious. Our new neighbor across the street saw it and was laughing as well. I mean how can you not laugh?!
Well today my mom and step dad came to pick up the younger two kids for them to stay the night. Sami had been up in the tree for a while. My step dad pulled in right where my husband normally parks. I’m sure you know where this is going! Sami starts walking out on a branch towards where he was parked. He had already heard about the incident with my husband’s truck and I warned him it could happen. No lie it wasn’t 60 seconds after I said that she proceeded to pee! At first we all thought it was just hitting the concrete but when I walked around to the front of their vehicle I saw it was all over the hood and front of it. My step dad just stood there watching as she finished. My mom was laughing and saying “it looks like it’s raining!” The kids were cracking up…and so was I! When she was done she walked back to the part of the tree she was at originally. Intentional?! Oh yes I believe so! LOL
Seriously I have NO IDEA why she does that! I know cats mark their territory and all, but on a vehicle like that?! Twice?! What made it so funny was that one: he hates cats, and two: how obviously intentional it was that she did that! After they left I felt kinda bad for laughing so I text my mom and told her I’d pay for the car wash and that I hoped “D” wasn’t too upset. She said he was okay…I hope so! lol
I’m thinking that was Sami’s way of saying “take that for not wanting to feed me!” Oh yes…a stray cat’s revenge indeed. 🙂 Sorry “D!” 😉
