Carrots with hummus (I like roasted red pepper hummus/this is one of my favorite snacks!)
Roma tomatoes (sliced), Cucumbers (sliced), topped with feta cheese (this is my current fave!)
Celery with natural peanut butter or almond butter
Whole wheat tortilla with Wholly Guacamole 100 calorie pack (LOVE THIS STUFF!), fajita chicken slices, pico de galo, half tsp low fat shredded cheese. (trust me it’s sooooo good! Sometimes I have this for lunch!)
Greek Yogurt with fruit
Apple slices with peanut butter or almond butter
Strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew (cut up in a bowl) with fruit dip (fat free cool whip mixed with one yogurt, any flavor)
1 oz 70% or higher dark chocolate (for those chocolate cravings)
Water, water, and more water!
I do not believe in deprivation. I do not deprive myself. I feel that is the one thing that kept me from losing weight in the past. I would deprive myself, then the cravings would be so overwhelming that I would binge, then I would feel guilty and give up, and gain even more weight. Now if I want some ice cream, I’ll have some ice cream! I’ll have one or two small scoops instead of a huge bowl full. If I want a homemade chocolate chip cookie, I will have one cookie, not 5 or 6. I will just workout harder the next day. Moderation is the key. By depriving myself I was not enjoying life and I believe life is meant to be enjoyed. Just remember why you began your journey and keep your eye on the “prize.” Eventually the cravings will lesson and you will learn to crave the healthier alternatives instead. 🙂*This is what works for me. Always consult your doctor before beginning a weight loss program.
