Today was my first day back with my trainer! I was a little nervous at first since it has been almost a year since I stepped foot in the gym, but then I saw familiar faces and felt like I was home. Other than being out of shape it felt like I had never left. That’s when you know you are in the right place. It was a good, but tough workout. I’ve lost so much strength and endurance and I’m trying to not let my ego get in the way. It’s going to take some time to get it back. I’m just thankful I am not starting completely over weight wise. After my workout with my trainer I went to the outdoor track they have. I did 9 laps total, running 3 of them. I was surprised I was able to even run 1 lap! I am already feeling the soreness too…and I love it! I may not be able to walk or sit down tomorrow though. 🙂
Tomorrow my plan was to go to spin class, oh how I’ve missed spin! However, my plans suddenly changed about 10 minutes after I left the gym. I got a call from “A’s” school nurse saying he was running fever and I needed to come pick him up. Since the school requires him to be fever free for 24 hours before returning (understandably) he will miss tomorrow and I’ll miss my workout. Sure I could wake up and go at 5am but early morning workouts for me are long gone! When I was 23 it was easy, not so much now 10 years and 3 kids later. Momma needs her sleep! lol I’m more sad for “A” though, he had perfect attendance this year and he is super upset about missing tomorrow. He is my over achiever straight A kid so this is not going over well with him. Praying he feels better soon! So tomorrow I’ll be going to the track after “K’s” softball game so I can at least get a workout in.
Today was supposed to be my Wednesday Weigh In post, however, I totally forgot today was Wednesday and did not weigh myself this morning. It might have something to do with my shower curtain rod falling in the middle of the night that had me flying out of bed in sheer panic! I think I was still frazzled from it when I woke up! lol So I’m going to skip this week all together and weigh in next week. I figure since today I started back with my trainer I’ll just start new, but still count the 5 lbs I already lost.
Even though it was only my first day back I already feel like I’m back on track! 🙂
