Whew! This has been such a crazy busy week! Between ball practices, open houses, and dance our evenings have been super crazy, rushed, and exhausting. I went to bed 3 days this week before 10pm and that never happens! So I’m super happy that tonight we have no where to be and I can stay home and relax.
So Monday I finally started back to working out. My goal was to go all 5 days this week and I am happy to say I met my goal! Monday was rough to say the least. When you haven’t worked out in 5 months you pretty much lose everything from muscle tone to stamina. I managed to finish the entire workout just in the nick of time, which is one hour by the way. Tuesday was probably the hardest day. It was all cardio, no weights. But it had lots of running and in freezing cold wind. I’m already pretty slow so the wind just slowed me down even more…and wore me out! Wednesday and Thursday I was so very sore but managed to push through both work outs. Today was tough, we had to sprint and being as sore as I am my sprint was more like a fast pace walk! Kinda embarrassing since I used to be able to actually sprint! lol It’s going to take building back up to it again.
One thing I’ve learned is that it’s better for me to not go on the website and find out what we are doing that day and instead just show up and be surprised. If I know what lies ahead I’m really good at talking myself out of going. I started to do that a couple of days this week and had to remind myself that not going was only going to make it harder when I do go. I’ve never regretted a workout, but I have regretted not working out. I’m so glad I went every day. Oh and the burpees. I’ve never liked them, I gave my trainer all kinds of heck when he would make me do them, and guess what?! We had to do them every single day this week! I think karma is trying to get me back for something…oh right…not working out for 5 months! Every time I saw burpees on the schedule all I could think was “BURPEES AGAIN?!” LOL They are really not fun when you are sore, but nevertheless they are a very good workout! I hated swinging kettlebells too at one time, but now I love it! So maybe I will learn to like them one day, or at least be able to do them faster! lol 🙂
I’ve been super sore this week. I am pretty sure I’ve been walking funny all week, more like a waddle with a limp, and sitting down, well I’ve pretty much just had to plop down real fast so it wouldn’t hurt as bad. My kids think it’s hilarious. I’ve been asking them to pick things up for me just so I don’t have to bend down. lol I’ll be glad when I’m over being sore. I am taking the weekend off to rest, recoup, and hopefully by Monday the soreness will be gone or almost gone. I’m hoping some yoga this weekend will help as well.
Anyway, even though it’s only been one week, I can say without a doubt that I know I’m really going to love OC Fitness. I felt welcomed from day 1. I thought I was going to feel intimidated but I never did. I like that I can workout at my own pace take a break if necessary…and it was necessary several times! lol
I’ve decided to turn my “Wordless Wednesday” posts into “Wednesday Weigh ins.” I used to weigh myself on Wednesdays 2 years ago, not really sure why I picked that day, but I figured I would continue to weigh myself on that day. So my next weigh in will be Wednesday, March 13.
The Sassy Weight Loss Challenge is officially underway! I’ll be posting tips and recipes on my Facebook page. Good luck to those who entered!
I have my first giveaway coming up next week. Don’t worry, I’m not going to turn into one of those blogs who post nothing but giveaways. But it will be worth your while. 🙂
