I’m sure you have noticed the many ebates and Tradesy posts from me on Facebook and Twitter lately. First I want to say…yes that is ME posting them, I have not been hacked! 🙂 With that said in case any of you are wondering what the deal is, and several of you are as I have been asked many questions, I figured I would explain it here in one post instead of several.
I’ll start with ebates. Ebates is a website that pays when you shop online. How does it work? Well, say you want to buy some Christmas presents online from Toys R U, for example. You log in to your ebates account and enter Toys R Us in the search bar or find it in the list of stores. When you click on the “shop now” button ebates will open a tracking ticket and immediately send you to Toys R Us website. Once you check out ebates will use the tracking ticket to verify you went through ebates to make the purchase. Depending on the store you shop from it usually takes 24-48 hours for your cash back to post in your account. You earn anywhere from 3% and up cash back before taxes and shipping. Now I get 3% doesn’t seem like a lot but hear me out. Right now with Christmas just 3 weeks away most of the stores are offering double cash back and free shipping. So right now is a great time to shop online through ebates if you don’t want to get out and fight the crowds. Plus even if you only shop online once or twice a year why not take advantage of earning cash back? Ebates also has tons of coupon codes for the stores as well. Ebates pays out every 3 months. Right now the earning period is Oct-Dec and the next payout is Feb 15. There are 3 payment options. Ebates will either send you a check, deposit it to your paypal account, or you can choose to donate it to a charity of your choice. Is it really worth it? My next check is already almost $60! So I say yes, I mean why not make money when you shop? 🙂
Tradesy is an online marketplace for new and gently used women’s clothing. You can list your clothes, shoes, jewelry, and even purses. It’s very simple, fast, and free to list your items. Once your item sells, Tradesy will send you the packaging material. All you have to do is package it up and drop it in the mail. That is it, no figuring out shipping prices, buying your own packaging, or driving to the nears post office, fed ex, or UPS facility. You never have to leave your home! If for some reason the buyer needs to return the item, Tradesy will pay for the shipping and complete refund of the item. It is completely hassle free! As of now you can only list women’s items, but I read they are looking to expand to men’s and children’s as well.
